Dato’ Yeow Wah Chin, born in Tampin, Negeri Sembilan, is a lawyer and community leader with a background in economics and law. He began his career at Maybank before founding his own legal firm, Messrs Yeow & Salleh, in 1994. That same year, he joined the Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur Central, eventually serving as District Governor (2010), Council Chairperson for Multiple District 308 (2014), and Global Leadership Team Area Leader (2017–2019).


Dato’ Yeow Wah Chin, a Malaysian born in Tampin, Negeri Sembilan, graduated with a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) in 1984. During his studies, he was named a book prize winner for the Analytical Economics and Public Policy Department. He began his professional career as a credit officer at Maybank. After five years, he pursued a law degree at Aberystwyth University in the United Kingdom, earning his LLB (Hons) in 1991.
Upon returning to Malaysia, Dato’ Yeow passed the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) and resumed his service at Malayan Banking Berhad for another two years. In 1993, he joined Messrs Ismail Sabri & Wee as a partner. A year later, he established his own legal firm, Messrs Yeow & Salleh.
In 1994, Dato’ Yeow joined the Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur Central and played an active role in community service. He served in various leadership roles including club president, zone chairperson, and region chairperson. In 2008, he was elected as First Vice District Governor, and in 2010, he became District Governor.
Understanding the importance of education, Dato’ Yeow initiated the formation of the Lions Education Foundation, aimed at assisting financially challenged students with average academic results to pursue tertiary education. His initiative was met with overwhelming support, raising over RM1,000,000 within six months. To date, 85 students have benefited from the foundation, with many graduating as professionals in various fields, effectively breaking the cycle of poverty in their families.
In 2014, Dato’ Yeow was elected as the Multiple District 308 Council Chairperson, overseeing Lions activities across Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. From 2017 to 2019, he served as the Global Leadership Team Area Leader for Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, the Philippines, and Guam, USA, a role appointed by the Lions Clubs International President.
In recognition of his significant contributions, Dato’ Yeow received the Ambassador of Goodwill Award—the highest honor of Lions Clubs International—in 2015. Beyond his Lionistic engagements, Dato’ Yeow served on the Advocates and Solicitors’ Disciplinary Committee and the Conveyancing Practice Committee of the Bar Council. He also served as Legal Advisor for the Society of Interpreters of the Deaf (Selangor and Wilayah Persekutuan) and the Yeow See Association in Melaka.
In May 2019, he was appointed to the Board of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, followed by a position on the Board of the Malaysian Institute of Integrity in 2020. In 2022, he was appointed as a director for Senheng New Retail Berhad, The Star Foundation, and Yayasan Munarah.
